Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on August 8, 1989, in Paris. As a child, she went to her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma decided to be an actor by the age of six. Through the years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing, dancing and acting. At the age of ten the actress took part in as the lead in a number of Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was released in 1999. Casting agents found Emma by way of her Oxford theatre instructor. The opening weekday and weekend ticket sales were record-breaking. The film received praise from critics, as were the performances of its three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British publication, has praised Emma for her exceptional performance. Emma was awarded five nominations for her exceptional performance.
